[Museumfriends] Internet Museum??

I agree with both of the contributors on this topic. I would like to 
see information about the collections as widely disseminated as 
possible, and I think part of the role of the friends would be to 
encourage a good web-presence for the museum at a level to  interest  
specialists. This would not preclude a parallel, 'populist' approach. 

However, this is not the time to pursue this aspect as I think our 
primary aim should be to campaign for a stable future for the museum.

Museums are often wary about allowing photographs of their 
collections to be widely disseminated, unless they can see some 
financial benefit, and I can easily understand why.
